Apps

Google Docs, Google Slides

YouTube

Installation

Install from Google Workspace Marketplace

Instructions

You can open “Easy Merge” from OneScript in Google Docs, and Slides, and they share the same user interface. Select a placeholder pattern which was created in your template. If any placeholders found in the title or the content, a data entry form will be created. Enter the values in the form, then simply click the button “Merge” to update the placeholders.

  • Placeholder Pattern: two options are provided for you ([[*]], {{*}})
  • Create a Copy: create a copy of the current template to merge, or the update will be applied to the current template
  • Entry Form: placeholders with the same key will be combined into one single input, the number in the parentheses is the repeat times of the placeholder in the template (the title of the template is also included)

Tips:

  • If you did any update on the placeholders in the template, the button “Refresh” will update the data entry form for you
  • Due to the Google Slides API limitation, the copy of Google Slide will use the default page setup (16:9). So if your template is not the default page setup, the page setup will not be copied.
