Easily Import CSV Data to Google Docs and Slides

Introduction

If you need to import a lot of data from CSV to Google Docs and Slides in your daily workflow, you may check this out. With this feature Easy CSV of OneScript, you can easily import CSV data by creating slides per row in Google Slides or insert data for images per row in Google Docs, and you also can import them as tables for both Google Docs and Slides.

Instructions - Google Docs

Open the app “Easy CSV” from OneScript sidebar, paste the CSV data you need to import to get started. If the CSV data is valid to use, you will have these options for Google Docs.

  • Select Import Method:
  • Insert below image per row: insert the data from CSV below the images in document
  • Insert above image per row: insert the data from CSV above the images in the document
  • As table: insert the data from CSV as a table in the document
  • Delimiter: for joining the cell values from the CSV row
  • Empty Rows Above: empty rows to be added for the CSV row data
  • Empty Rows Below: empty rows to be added for the CSV row data
  • Transpose: transpose the CSV data for the table creation
  • Select Attributes: the columns in the CSV to be used to import, the values in the parentheses are examples

Tips

  • If you have images in the document, make sure they are “Saved to Drive” before inserting the data, the CSV data may be inserted in the wrong position when the document is not saved.

Open the app “Easy CSV” from OneScript sidebar, paste the CSV data you need to import to get started. If the CSV data is valid to use, you will have these options for Google Slides.

  • Select Import Method:
  • Copy active & update per row: create a new slide by using the active slide as a template and update the placeholders by using the data from the CSV row data
  • Insert slides with textbox per row: insert new slides by using the data from CSV, a textbox will be created to insert the CSV row data on the slide
  • Insert slides with shape per row: insert new slides by using the data from CSV, a shape will be created to insert the CSV row data on the slide
  • As table: insert the data from CSV as a table in the slide
  • Transpose: transpose the CSV data for the table creation
  • Select Attributes: the columns in the CSV to be used to import, the values in the parentheses are examples

Tips

  • When use “Copy active & update per row”, you can design a slide as template with the placeholders from the CSV data to duplicate
